Panels & Layouts
Build the grammar of a comic: panels, gutters, and layouts across every page size.
Start from a layout
Every page size ships with a library of ready-made panel layouts, from a single clean frame to dense multi-panel grids. Drop one in and your page has structure in a tap, which is perfect when you want to move fast.
The custom layout builder
When a preset is not quite right, the custom layout builder hands you full control over the geometry of the page. This is where Panel Haus goes well past a simple grid:
- Add and remove panels until the page has exactly the beats your story needs.
- Drag panel edges to resize and rebalance them, and dial in the gutters between.
- Move individual vertices to create angled, slanted, and non-rectangular panels, the dynamic shapes that give comics their energy.
- Shape the page into the kind of action layouts you see in print, not just boxes on a grid.
- Save any layout once it is right, and it joins your library to reuse on any future page.
Because panels are defined in exact pixels rather than rough percentages, what you build is precisely what you get, and it holds its shape on export.
Fill and fine-tune each panel
Drop an image into any panel and it clips cleanly to the frame, even the angled ones. From there, zoom, rotate, flip, and reposition the image inside the panel until the composition reads right. Each panel is its own little stage.
One page or all of them
Found a layout that works? Apply it to the page you are on, or push it across every page at once for a consistent book. The same goes for backgrounds and page-level styling.
